My best recommendation is http://www.tripadvisor.com as they have real people reviews and photos of most hotels in London. It's a must.

For £100, you might get lucky and find a 4* hotel available at a 'last minute' price. Lastminute.com has some that will pop up from time to time.

There are several 'boutique' hotels that are around £100 a night but quite nice. Very clean modern rooms, etc. I like the Hoxton (though it is not in the best area for being a tourist), Luna and Simone, and the Parkcity. I've also stayed at the Royal Garden Hotel for £100, and a few of the Millenium Hotels (Knightsbridge, Kennsington) for around that price.

You will need to shop around to get the best price.

For that price you're basically limited to Premier Travel Inns. There are some small, independent hotels, especially around Victoria and Paddington, for cheaper than this, but they don't have parking.

Not that there is anything wrong with them. The rooms may sometimes be cramped but they are always clean and have everything you need. The one at Tower Bridge often messes up my bookings and payments though - to be fair I am always booking for large groups of people, but I put everything in writing for them so it shouldn't be that hard. But there's one at King's Cross and one in Southwark; think there's also one around Westminster. There are also others that are less central. Look on their website for details.

I can always reccommend the Premier Travel Inn's, as all the ones I have stayed in are excellent. The one at Tower Bridge is fantastic... Clean and quiet. Nice and cheap too.

DO NOT EVER stay at the Gresham Hotel at the back of the British Museum.... it's gross and even the receptionist is seated behind a cage. Its that bad.
