In this juncture, I like to jolt something.. In the school, the kids will b trying to freak out of their schedule by attending or participating in such cultural events. But, in real life, only people with profound interest try to participate and celebrate such things..
This reason I state here might corroborate ur question. As a result, the natural harmony is difficult to establish but, can b encouraged to develop among communities.

There have been dedicated trainers in the form of dance and music rather then in theatre. Thogh most teachers do possess good skills to enact they shy away at the time of reharsals.Only confident theatre people are able to conduct classes for amateurs. If bold trainers come forward and if the parents are also not narrow enough to curtail their children , then theatres in schools can really take off!

In your "theory" I might agree, but as others have stated, Theater and the arts are also not strictly things practical to apply to an every day life in todays world.
Social consciousness, and awareness, even socialization can certainly occur without any "Classes" in any of the arts. Team building and leadership "roles" are often inherent, and can be taught other than through art formats.
Certainly as a lifelong Artist I agree that "exposure" is a positive, but I also have been in and around theater for most of my life and am constantly IRKED by children being force fed those things thought to be nourishing, primarily by "Stage Parents" exercising some latent ego issues.
By the way, Children ROLE PLAY constantly, from a very young age, and usually with each other, without ever having attended a single Drama class. They "develop" certainly through experience and osmosis, but often rebel at ANYTHING being pushed on them or insisted upon them.
One final example, a very personal one to me, and likely in children around the world. As a young child I often climbed to our barn roof and laid out, looking at starlit skies. I was engaging my "imagination" long before I took up my pencil to record what the imagination had helped create, or before I ever got involved at NYU theater, and beyond.

Now a days schools should have art-theatre, because by this the students will get a chance to show there talent, and they will be motivated, they will also get a chance to perform in front of the audience, their fear will be lost, and who knows who is the superstar of tomorrow, so according to me their should be art-theatre in schools.
