i dont know.but in my day if we had snow drifts 6 foot high.i still had to go to school.and i was only 4 foot high.

Goodness knows, they shut our local school this morning, all the kids live local, the furthest any of the teachers lives is 4 miles away and shes on a major road which is kept open even in snow, all the moms and dads are having to try and find someone to have their kids for the rest of the day or come out of work and lose money because of it, its so unfair on them and its about time the damn government got its act together and stopped these council workers and teachers just having time off for a bit of snow.

I know! How daft!! My daughter works in a school and she received a phone call that the school would be shut for TWO days!!! My nephew at another school is also off today??

Snow, in the part of wales I live the school buses can't get in from the hills and surronding villages.

Erm- because it's snowing, and some parents are that stupid that they'd sue the school if their child got hit by a snowball in the playground.

Because the teachers will take any opportunity to get a day off.
Our country is rubbish at handling bad weather even with warning.

I don't know, when i was a kid we had snow every winter and plenty of it too and i don't remember the schools closing ?.

in our case coz the school is at the top of a really big hill.
weve got land rovers that cant make it... so what chance has the teachers in their 2CV6 and you dont expect them to walk do you?

tipical any excuse, wot would we do if hospitals closed or emergancy services stop working. Those who can do those who cant teach..
