They use research to find songs popular with their audience, and 7/8 year old songs will be popular with 23 year olds, since we make the deepest and most nostalgic music connections in our brains, in our mid-teens.
So - no surprise that Radio One plays songs of that age, and either this song was huge in their research - or one DJ played it and the others thought "that's great" and stuck it in their shows too. The station uses research overlaid with a good deal of DJ and producer choice.

because ice cube RULES. he is by far one of the best rappers around. on a par with the likes of the mighty DR DRE and SNOOP. alot better than most i.e 50 pence and ggg G UNIT. dont complain and ruin it for those of us that enjoy the oldies. u cant beat 90s rap. no shame and no boundaries

That song was re-released a few years ago, & very popular at the time. Infinitely better than all the new bands though.
