Isn't marriage more about 2 people becoming one? Is marriage, in general, viewed as compromise more than love? Is that the reason for the growing number of divorces?

I believe one should get married without a stable job, its not about what you can bring into the relationship (material wise) but more what you can offer emotionally.
I believe it has nothing to do with money!!!! If you are the type that want to support and bring in material things into your partners life then rather get a stable job first. And if you are still studying it is wiser to wait until your studies are complete before you think of getting involved seriously because a relationship needs time and nurturing...
Marriage has become a compromise.....

If one feels that strongly about another person marriage is the way to go. Having made the commitment the incentive to obtain a stable job will most probably increase. When one is married one starts to think of a family and a comfortable environment for the family and so stability becomes a necessary tool for planning the future However how one feels at a young and tender age may change as one matures and two people can and sometimes do grow apart and when they have different needs and interests they need to go separate ways. For me this was a good thing

it is really hard to say. But our society these days adapts to the idea that it takes two income to get the household going. it is a commitment i think more than a compromise. I can't really tell the reason for higher divorce rates-the UN statistics will be able to answer that factually. But on my own experience, money wasn't the problem.
In my idea, one should not get married without a stable job starting a family is more than love, it also needs financial foundation.

Work comes and goes. Get married is for better or worse, so marry poor and don't expect to be rich.

High divorce rate is because so many people feel it just so easy to walk away from a person. High divorce is result of false values in society.

Love and money are(hopefully) two seperate issues. If it's a factor don't get married. you don't love that person.
