I am from a wealthy family, my Dad was co. owner of BMW all over the world but now he has retired. I currently work in Target, can I do better? I would say I am wealthy and I have worked hard all my life. My birthday is in April and I want to plan ahead.
My friends are not as wealthy and work hard everyday and live in the same flat. I sometimes wonder how I ever got with them as I do not have anything in common, they like different music, clothes and hobbies as me. I also go to College part time and I have a group of friends there that I have more in common with.
I was thinking of a yacht and champagne theme and my new friends are rich. Should I invite my o ther friends that I have nothing in common with and are not wealthy - will they think i am trying to make them look dumb?
Please help, I would really appreciate it.

I think it would be very rude for you not to invite them..
Since you are so much better than them, maybe you ought to move out of the flat. I doubt they will miss you much since you are such a snob.

Maybe your friends that aren't so well off would like to participate in drinking champagne and being on a yacht. Don't show them up, just show them attention. Good Luck My bd is in April too.
I won't be on a yacht or drinking champagne, I'll probably hit a comedy show with some 7&7,

Forget the social status thing. If you don't have anything in common with someone you can't build a friendship. You're better off hanging with people that you share things in common with and that you have a chance of building a meaningful relationship with. It doesn't matter if they have money or not not. If they're rich well.. so what..don't let that make you feel guilty.

Wealth should have nothing to do with the friends you choose to hang out with. If rich people don't give the "regular" folk the same treatment as the rich folk, they are inconsiderate snobs.

I have money and could hang at the country club but I don't. I don't like the way most of the rich people are fake.

Give me the real people anyday.

They are your friends, and im sure they know who you are

Why not ask them, tell them you are having a party and what the party is going to be like and how you would love them to come, but they dont have to feel pressured to turn up

One of my nephews has a friend who grew up around money, dad bought him cars and stuff, my nephew didnt and dosent really have much money but they are the best of friends

Sometimes it dosent matter if you have money or not, you are still you

Maybe you are.. Or maybe you are trying to make them look very poor. It is your decision. Ask yourself someuestions first, is your richness bothering them? Etc. Then you have to make a decision.

Have a nice time for your birthday, a very early happy birthday to you.

You ought to know yourself if your 'other' friends really mean anything to you or if you mean anything to them. I'll keep it simple: If they are truly your friends for whom you have some REAL affection, invite them. If not, forget them and don't bother about them again.

Maybe you can do better but are you happy, that's the question. I would imagine that Jimmy Carter is happier and more at peace than he was during his presidency.

Ignore the insults...invite your friends; they like you for YOU. Not your money or connections. And if they don't, you're better off without.

Your destiny is your choice..
You will get what you deserve.
If you work hard you can achieve anything even more wealthier than your father
