You need to get a life.
For your own good, find something that really interests you and pursue it. Keep busy with friends and family. Take a course to upgrade your own knowledge. Read, exercise, go out and have some fun....
Don't wait for something to happen, make it happen.

Maybe the fact that you have too much time on your hands to be able to think of him as much as you describe. Whenever in a situation where you yearn and need spmething that is not present, than you end up thinking of it with idle time. Idle time is the devil's workshop and the devil works against your happiness. The solution to this is quite simple yet hard to implicate at first.
Go to the gym and destress. Do pilates and/or yoga to balance mind, body and soul. Start making more friends.Talk with old friends and make new ones. The key here is keeping yourself occupied. When you are occupied, you will enjoy more and more times with your boo because you have something to share with him.
enjoy and cheers

I could be wrong here - but...
Is he in his final year and you're left in your home town? Perhaps then, his peer pressure makes him feel he's out grown you. He'll probably regret it later... but right now, if he doesn't want to be with you, it sounds like he doesn't want you to be there either.
Maybe time to move on... write him a letter on paper and ask him if this is what he thinks. Then re-appraise the situation.

Happens all the time. Seldom is the need for reassurance at a mutual level. The most insecure suffer more, and sadly dear, there ain't nothin' you can do about it untill some good looking guy pays some attention to you.

Yes you are being selfish,he has to get his education, it will affect the rest of his life.If you put him under too much pressure when he is trying to concentrate on his education ,you'll find yourself "out "of the rest of his life.

You're not selfish... If you are needing him to call you and text you so it means he's not doing this stuff as much as you need. he is so busy with himself and his life.. its a difficult situation.. give it time you will forget but it will be difficult... life goes on....
