Yes.

A position for shift leader was advertised at my work. I was the most qualified for the job.

I felt confident that I would get it.

I applied for the position along with two others in December 2005.

April 2006 I was the only one still in the running for that position. (The other two decided that waiting for the interviews to begin was taking too long and that they were not really interested in it anyway.

Finally at the end of April 2006 I was interviewed.

Then I had to wait for the decision, which I felt was pretty much a no brainer seeing as I was the only one going for that position. A week later when the decision was supposed to be announced I was told I had to wait two more weeks because of unforseen circumstances.

Finally I recieved the answer. I was told I missed out on the position by a little bit. But for the next three months they would train me up to be the next shiftleader. After those three months I would then be re-interviewed to see if I meet the requirements, and if I did i would get the promotion.

I accepted their offer. For the next three months I did not recieve any training at all. But if I made the smallest mistake I was taken into the office and given a counselling talk. Meanwhile a person who had been a shiftleader for a year and a half was making heaps of mistakes that were a lot worse than any I'd made, and it was all ignored.

It was as though a black sock sticking (via static electricity) to a black t-shirt was worse than a shift leader threatening to slap her staff.

At the end of the three months I was told the decision had to be postponed for another month.

At the end of that month I fianally heard that I was not successful in obtaining the shiftleader position, because a black sock got stuck to a black t-shirt, and because I told a customer that we washed pillows when only the manager was aware that we didn't, and because I tried to make changes (which I was told to do in the first place).

Needless to say that my production slipped and my manager (the one that is responsible for all the above) is scratching his head cause he has no idea why my production dropped around that time.

They then told me that I was welcome to reapply for the position when it was readvertised.

I told them that I would not be reapplying for that position because they wasted 9 months of my life to tell me no and how did I know they weren't going to try and beat that record by making me wait 12 months.

In the end they hired a lady who had worked for the laundry in the past and was known to be a troublemaker, a racist and who had threatened to make the manager lose his job so she could have it.

Now I can honestly say I know what it is like to not give a sh*t anymore.

Yes, I've been working 33 days in a row. I am waiting for a day off. I know once I get a day off it will only be a part of a day off since I work at night and 12 hour shifts. It will be a total let down. But I am burned out working 76 hours a week. I need rest! I'll take any amount more than I'm getting now.

Yes. From Halloween to December 24th I'm looking forward to Christmas and I'm usually disappointed. More recently I was looking forward to my eighteenth birthday...I thought there would be some sort of mental change or something. But I feel exactly the same.

Yes. I planned a surprise trip to Key West for my wife for our 10th wedding anniversary. I planned and saved up for it for a whole year. It was a fun trip, but it was kind of a letdown. I think the anticipation had built up so much from keeping it a secret so long that the trip couldn't possibly live up to my expectations. I wish we could go back again and just take it easy and relaxed. I was so worried about everything being perfect on that trip that I didn't get to fully enjoy myself.

everyone gets excited over nothing. Christmas is C.rap your birthday gets ruined by someone and your date has legged it. Nothing in this world is fair, but why should it be? Whats the point in complaining (even though i am) Whats the point of getting excited over things that just don't turn out right (even though i do) whats the point in thinking that someone you love will love you back? (even though i did) WHAT IS THE POINT!

Yeah....My Sister's wedding....

I was her Matron of Honor.....we did all kinds of planning....picked a color scheme.....made bouquets....I went online to find recipes for wedding cakes...& the little cakes they put into boxes for the guests....I made 200 confetti nets.....
Went & bought my dress & shoes.....for like 300.00
Had my hair done...nails done....was 7 mo's pregnant...& had to have my dress altered the final 2 days....due to weight gain...

The day before, I got busy cooking...making the cakes...Mom made the Bride & Groom Cake piece.....

Her colors were going to be Deep Purple, Rose, & White....

We busted our butts on all of this.....

THEN...the day of the wedding....my cake leaned...the icing came out too dark....
My Sister's Husband made a TOTAL *** of himself.....he walked around PO'd because my sister didnt change her mind about me being her Matron of Honor....
He made threats if we were to decorate his car....& made snide remarks about my sister looking like a clown if I were to do her hair & makeup...which I was supposed too....
My shoes didnt fit right...since my feet were swollen that day...so I had to wear house shoes....

THEN....the final moment happens....My sister was BEAUTIFUL...she came out wearing a Rose colored lace gown....I had down her hair up in tiny roses & baby breath....she looked amazing...

only to have him stand by the minister with a frown on his face wearing a BLACK tie.....BLACK suit with a WHITE shirt!....he was supposed to wear a pin striped suit with his light purple shirt & Rose colored tie..that matched her dress.....OMG....his hair was slicked down like some kind of wanna be ganster type....& he was just frowning.....I wanted to smack him...

THEN while the wedding was going on...he kept looking at me & rolling his eyes....when it came time for her to throw the bouquet....he threw a fit..& they ended up arguing about it....so she just walked to me & said...."You caught it!"...which mad him even madder...

My aunt, 4 cousins & myself.....snuck outside & TIED streamers to his mirrors & the bumpers....the door handles....nothing was wrote on the windows or anything.....but he came out & saw what we were doing....& threw a massive fit....shoved me onto the ground & started ripping the streamer off the car cussing all of us....OMG...one neighbor threatened to kick his butt for us...LOL....

it just got worse from there....

What was he so mad about?....

He wanted his MOTHER to plan the wedding for my sister....& my sister asked me to do it....& since we always promised that we would be each other's Matron of Honor or Maid of Honor.....she asked me instead of her Best friend...who was also an Ex Girlfriend of mine....

Most of his attitude was caught on tape...& when he watches it now...he gets mad that we taped him acting like that...not that he was the one making the fool out of himself.....

UGH!....he is pretty much an asshole & has been trying to make my sister disown me for one reason or another....claims he hates me, yet doesnt know why.......hmmmm....

Oh well...my sister & I are REAL close...& it just gets under his skin......

BTW...even with all the disasters...My sister made a beautiful bride...& was still impressed with the decorations her & I busted our butts doing.....she laughed at the cake....& has a picture of it framed..hanging up on the wall...next to her Marriage License...
