I would go farther than most people since there is enough money...
I would buy one really nice thing: Clothes, DVD, or something he wanted at Christmas or birthday.
I would then get one or two small items, like a little stuffed animal holding a heart or a box of chocolates, or? And a card.
Finally a modestly priced home cooked meal that he would enjoy.
After that, the two of you can make it an evening to remember.

Where did the idea of gifts on valentines day come from??
That never was the idea of valentines day! It is supposed to be the one day of the year when a woman can propose to a man and the traditional day when a secret admirer can alert the object of their desire to their feelings if not their identity.
Once again it seems that capitalism has usurped a tradition in order to sell us more stuff we don't really need!

You could:
buy some underwear for yourself and strip for him
buy him a dvd he's wanted for a while then order take away and watch it in bed.
get him a pillow with a saucy message or photo of you on

Buy youself a miss massage outfit from ann summers and some oil and give him a sexy massage

or just do what most people probably do- get him a card then cook a nice meal. Seriuosly great cards here-

Maybe a dinner made by you, with candles, romance music, and then a trip to the movies, of his choice
