I want to know which notebook you'd prefer. Also, tell me why you prefer this specific notebook. Don't just say " Sony", elaborate on the reasons you would purchase this specific notebook.

My top 4 favorite notebooks:

Acer

Xtreme CTX Pro

Dell XPS M 1710

Voodoo.

If you know of any other top class brand, please let me know...

Do not worry about Money... Money is not my problem.

Also try to compare your likes to dislikes. However, if you think Voodoo is better than Acer, tell me why... Thank you.

Apple MACBook Pro I'm salivating over it at the moment, please excuse me....

Blows them all out of the water, IMHO!

Speed, reliability, lightweight at 6.8 lbs, superior graphics capability!

But the IBM Thinkpads are workhorses, and come a close second. Beat em up, kick the tires, drop them, they still work! After all, no one ever got fired for buying IBM"s.

ACER!!!! i got an acer an it lasted almost 5 years now :)

The top of the list and at a reasonable cost of US$2,000 is the Acer Ferrari 4000 laptop computer. With a graphite and red finish and performance that would rival most game laptops from specialty companies like Voodoo and AlienWare, but with an even more impressive brand in Ferrari, this is the ultimate affordable notebook.

Apples are by far the best. They are the lightest, and are the easiest to use. If you really want windows, and I assume that that is why you are not considering an apple, then buy an apple anyway. First of all, Mac OS X is better then windows, and secondly, if you want windows, you can get windows for your mac. There is new technology that allows either two desktops that you can easily switch between (one OS X and one windows) or programs from both on one desktop. YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS ON MACS also they are the most stylish, they never crash, there are about 30 viruses from mac and millions and millions for pcs, and of course if you have an ipod....
also the new ones have a very cool built-in camera at the top.

I have been a computer freek since i am in college. I used to assemble and sell computer and had very good interest in Gadgets.

I have seen and used laptop from 486 Laptops to current generation Dual Core Laptops.

And i have sold over 50 Laptops between Acer, HP, Compaq, HP, Sony

But i feel Sony is the best. I am using a Sony VAIO SZ 18GP and i havent seen any other laptop which can even come somewhere near it in Style, Performance, battery life just to name a few.

Depends on what you need the notebook for - I prefer Apple. Unlike PCs, they are much more user friendly - more memmory and makes downloading music, graphics, pictures a breeze.
