I picked it up in a charity shop because I liked the cover. I thought it would be a book aimed at children...

how wrong can a person be?

Very good book though. Will finish it tonight!

I first read it in 1988 thought it was brilliant. one of those books that your are actually sorry to finish as it is so enjoyable to read. Have read all the other ones since. he as also done a trilogy about wolvess and two follow ups to the Wind in the willows By Kennith Grahame. I did not enjoy the wolve ones as much but his willow ones are in the same style as Grahame

Funny really, I did exactly the same thing - at a charity shop a couple of weeks ago.

Now I am about to start the third part... (duncton found... sorry!)

Great books with beautiful characters.

Certainly not for kids though...

I have a copy from when it was first published but never read it. I got it too soon after Watership Down and never got into it. I keep promising to read it one day.
Moles are in reality brutal little loners; I've handled one or two and their claws are impressive, like spades with scimitars fixed at the ends.

Weird or what!! I got my copy from a charity shop.I enjoyed it very much, it is much better written and constructed than "The Lord Of The Rings" and has more 'bite' than "Watership Down".
