i admire being in woods or wooded area for the time of thunderstorms it rather is neat. I additionally in many circumstances carried a rain in advantageous condition whilst i replaced into almost specific it would rain on those hikes and in many circumstances merely persevered to hike as long because it wasn't no longer on a ridge or in very tall trees. listed right here are some little policies of thumb to advance the percentages of no longer being hit. i admire your tarp concept. positioned it up in a gully or depressed section in a close-by of smaller trees that are no longer too intense will shrink the possibility of being stricken via lightning. additionally. do no longer lie down flat or take a seat on the floor yet squat or stand under your tarp with your ft jointly will help no longer taking a jolt from a close-by lightning strike. stay removed from any uncovered roots of trees and the backside of any large and/or tall tree. undecided what proportion thunderstorms I even have ridden out in a backpack tent over the years although that is been particularly some. The poles in my tent have been fiberglass and nonconducting.

Yes.. Especially when i have to put the lights off to keep my house from burning because of the thunderstorm. It's dark outside and then there is a lot of thunderstorms and light flashes with a lot of rain. So nice.. I get what you mean.. Just nice and cozy being at home, that would be nice with snow..
Have a good day.

I love thunder storms up here in the Northern Territory in Australia. They are always magnificent light shows.
Once I was walking to the shop and there were no other clouds in the sky except for this BMF (Big Mother F..........). It was the sort of cloud you could wish to rest on. What made this cloud even more spectacular was in the centre there was an occassional spark of lightening. There was no lightening any where else in the sky. Just in this one big white fluffy cloud.
I hate it though when it rains a little bit, just enough to wet everything, then it stops, and all of a sudden this massive dust storm covers everything in red dirt. It takes forever to clean your car again. Although once your car is clean, you get all these envious looks from people whose cars are still covered in red dirt.

Yes, I like it, as long as the rain isn't coming down too hard, just enough to make everything wet. I get cold pretty easily so I don't like getting completely soaked.
