I have found that the games are not improved and not changed when using on the ps3. However when you have a complete set up to get the best of the hd quality PS3 games ie(hd TV that supports 1080i, hdmi cable) the games video quality is lacking because most games for the PS2 are not designed to run in 1080i. So if you own a PS3 but are still using a non HD TV you will not notice a major difference. But when using the PS3 with the full set up you will experience worse graphics quality. Unless you shrink the picture size of the game. The games will save directly to the hard drive as the ps3 does not have memory card slots.

Ok, Ps2 games will run the same on the PS3 but they may be a bit faster when loading. I have had no problems with playing my PS2 games on my PS3..... Yet and have had it since Nov. 28th 2006.

You do not need a memory card to save games on PS3 for PS2/3 games, however if you want to save excising saved games from a PS2 memory card you need an adapter to transfer the games to the PS3

Some ps2 games won't actually run on the ps3 without an upgrade.

Ps3 actually downgrades the graphics on many of the games.
