That's a very tough question :)
Egypt is my home land, in other words its my mother. in my point of view no one hates their mother, even if she is the worst person ever. I guess that i love about this country, the warmth of it, the love u c between ppl, the GREAT hospitality, the bonds between family members, and the sense of humor. But then again, i have things i wish they could change someday, mainly the carelessness of ppl towards their selves and their living conditions.
At the end, I REALLY love this place and I've never wished to leave it . I feel like I'm a fish that''ll die if it leaves the water.

I haven't lived in Egypt since I was 6 but the many times I went back for visit I see differences. In family, not so much, they hardly know me but they welcome me with open arms each time, take off work, and take me wherever I want to go. They get insulted if I don't stay with them and would go to the ends of the earth for me. Nowhere in this world will you find similar hospitality.
They have great shopping but you need someone to go with you who knows how to haggle I thought I did but I was so outdone by my aunt (bought beautiful silk chiffon for curtains for 1euro/ meter!). Food too is great! Safety hmmm... I don't like what it has become. If you're a woman/girl the guys will taunt you on the street - I think that's why most girls wear the hijab they don't want to be bothered! What is said before about not taking care of themselves and their things is more evident. That CEO discussion before about comraderie exists everywhere so it's not a problem of Egypt alone! I just met a woman who did her graduate study and lived in Egypt for 1-1/2 years and absolutely loved it! Anyone who visits will tell you it's the people who make the trip, they're always smiling, very friendly and courteous so that's the best asset of Egypt in my opinion - of course too the history and all that goes with that... wish current govt loved its people and took care of its people better.
For the questioner, why are you asking??

I love Egypt, it's my home country and i miss it so much! I love Egypt, the culture, the music and i love the fact is that you can walk in the street at night and have no fear of being attacked! I also love Egypt's views and sights as you look across the nile at nightime...the views are so great! But the best thing of all in Egypt is me seeing my family which i only see once every 2-3 years.
Sadly living in Egypt is not so great as your holiday will be but if everyone works together i believe that one day Egypt can be successfull.
If you ever decide to come to Egypt the people would be more than happy to welcome you.
God bless...x

LISTEN TO THIS:
Egyptians must face it, over the past 25 yrs. Egypt has gone from bad to worse.. Not only financially and economically but also ethically..
People (which were always Egypt's great gift to the world) have changed, I mean the "quality" of the people is going down and down.. they are not anymore the friendly , nice people ... actually most of their habits DO ONLY show ignorance rather than genorousity!
The education system is very bad , but yet what is worse is the culture ...
Environment is very dirty , but yet what is worse is people's habits (they throw all rabish in street , they have poisoned river Nile , very high smoking rate -now among women and children too.....etc)
Comes with all of that the NEGATIVITY of the people ... no body takes an initiative to work any thing out! No body cares any more,
Good connections are now the major requirement for you to get a reputable job , I work with a jerk manager , who had very poor education , why is he my manager ? Because he is a friend of the CEO !!!!!!
They shut down mosques and churched everyday , the governoment does not want the people to learn even about their religion !!
Prices are very high, extremely high comparing to average income of an average man .. I have been to the UK which is said to be the most expesive place in the world , I bought things from there which were relatively cheaper than here..
Pretty good example that proves all of this :
IS HOW EGYPTIANS TURNING OUT FACTS , ATTACKING ONE PERSON (first answer) FOR SPEAKING UP HIS MIND AND NOT FACING THE TRUTH..
EGYPTIANS MUST LEARN THAT FACING UP PROBLEMS IS WHAT IS CALLED (LOVE TO EGYPT) NOT JUST SPEAKING !!
