A strangelet must be a chuck of matter made up of strange quarks, eh? How about a "charmlet"? Or a "toplet" or "bottomlet"? (They should have chose truth and beauty quarks instead). I guess a strangelet comes out of the breakup of a neutron star, and is formed in it's core as neutronic matter condenses even further. I don't see how a neutron star can be torn apart; gravitational force is just too strong. Even if spinning at thousands of times a minute! A lower state of energy would be for it to try and form a black hole; that's where it would prefer to be.

I don't know exactly what you mean with "stranglet"!
I presume you mean extra-planetary bodies from the Universe, such as Asteroids! Depends on the size of the strangelet and the velocity. It can do no harm to the Earth's body, unless it's large enough (i.e. 1 km) to influence the atmosphere. If it's large enough (I.e. a quarter of the Earth's mass), it could shift the Earth away from its standard rotation and could move towards Mars or the Sun, etc...If its going towards the Sun, then you're... TOAST!!!

According to Genesis, it was God and the mighty ones who created all the spirits of man and woman at creation, and then a physical body for Adam. If this is so, God has been there the whole of the existents of man. God says: If an evil man turns from his evil ways and begins to DO what is right (help the orphan, widows poor etc.) I will forgive all of his evil ways and account his work as righteousness. But if a righteous man turns from doing what is right, I will forget all of his righteous acts and account to him only evil. That is what God, and Jesus both said. Hope that helps Chris T.

What is it with you people!
It's nuts that you're asking what a stranglet is when the link is shown and it actually tells you!! AAARRGGGGHHHHHH.
Anyway, I don't know... but I think it would be pretty difficult (without proof) to differentiate between natural phenomom and an actual Stranglet. Using the Earth as detection...hmmm...possibly, but without seeing any real data which might or might not be conclusive, then it's difficult to really answer.
Personally, I think we would suffer a complete fudge colapse, turn brittle, and turn into toffee, but that's only my opinion.

Since a strangelet has a misive amount of gravity then we are all gonners.

If I knew exactly what a strangelet was it could give you my reaction. Anyway I think your question although a bit obscure, is interesting!!!!!

Some people think that they would cause earthquakes. Most people think there are more plausible reasons for earthquakes like plate tectonics.
