we might have a decent international team...the likes of Lampard etc just cant perform for England like they do for there domestic team Chelski etc...who agrees

Lampard has better wingers and forwards to supply at Chelsea than he does in the England squad. Also, he and Gerrard should not be on the pitch at the same time, they do not gel.

Yep, Gerrard's the worst for that. Did anyone notice the difference between him being on and off the pitch?
Thing is, if you look at the premiership squads, you've got your flair players and your grafters.
So here's a challenge: name five English flair players (and you can't have Rooney, Joe Cole, or Owen because they were out injured) and five foreign grafters.

Haha. I wonder if that would help...I agree though...Some of these guys just cannot play for England like they play for their clubs. It's unbelievable to think about. You would think with the talent and abilities they have, they would be able to perform so much better.

At their individual clubs they are surrounded by amazing foreign players who enable them to shine in their games. But when they are managed by a rubbish manager the mediocracy of the team( with the exception of a few notables Rooney et al ) truly shows

Naa. If they cant put on the England strip and play (as you imply) then perhaps we should look at withdrawing from international football. There clearly isn't the motivation...... is there?

i agree if the England players played like they do for their clubs we would give teams like Brazil a run for their money

down to poor management of the national side and players not playing in the role that they play for their clubs...
i mean steve mcclaren is he really the man to lead us to be european or world champions? answer is no he's just another mediocre club manager... there are no english managers that are good enough to manage an international side at the minute.. all the top british clubs have foreign managers.. and lack european club mangement experience.. the closest is fergie and he's scottish and rather long in the tooth now...!!

on the other hand morientes didnt work out at liverpool but can for country although he missed an open goal.
