I have been on birth control for 5 years(the pill) and came off it about 2 months ago,because i would like to have another baby.I am worried i might have problems conceiving because I'm not pregnant yet.I had intercourse most days when was supposed to be fertile but I'm not pregnant.I've already have a 5 year old son,I am 24 years old,I don't smoke,I have no health problems.If anyone could give me some advice to why I am not pregnant yet that would be great.

The normal amount of time to conceive after getting off birth control is under a year, with the average being 5-6 months. Some people get pregnant right aways and some take longer. Don't start worrying until it's been that year, because your body may just be trying to regulate its own hormones.

When you are taking the pill a responsible doctor will take you off it for 3 months every year to give your body a break.. if not you should still be ok, but you might need a few months off the pill to get your fertility back to what it use to be. also depending on how fertile your partner is, and you are will depend on how fast you get pregnant, also what time of the month you try, supposedly the 2 week after your period has finished you are at your most fertile!!!

its normal hun! your body needs to regulate off the pill i was on the pill since i was 16..then stopped it when i was 21 jan06..while my husband was overseas i had my period regulate and had my body get back to normal..and when he got home we got pregnant 3 months after that! and i conceived in augs 06 and my baby is due in may!

my frien was on bc for 10 years and fell pregnant the first month she stopped it so there is no set time it varies from person to person
