I never have white out or if i do its all old and hard, so I generally cross out or start again (thank goodness for computers:)

If it was just something for school I always crossed it out. But if it is something important like something for work, then I would use white out.

White out for letters or things like that....
If it is something I am writing for personal use...I cross out

Legal documents have to have a strike through and initials,
anything else I use white out, it smells better! and I can make a copy so that you do not see the original error at all.
