To Gem: My Dad had an 8 track installed in his car. My brother and I thought it was so great! THANK goodness technology marched on! He had so many 8 track tapes we nearly had no room to ride in the backseat.

Wow, flashback to the AM radio days with that one!

This came out about the same time that only "rich" kids had stereos and cable tv was a new technology.

I believe one of my friends had this on 8 track. Now THAT really dates me.

I remember hearing that song on the radio when I was about 6 or 7 years old........and I'll just leave it at that.

One of the loved and loathed songs of the '70s. I loved it myself, though there is a longer version with a pointless piano intro that I don't like as much. All that lush harmony in that era warped me for life, lovely major 7ths and 9ths...

billy has it on his hard drive, michael martin murphy recorded 3 slightly different versions of the song, I like the popular version best
