am a huge eastenders fan and have noticed how they are either in the queen vic having a pint or at someone's house and especially if there is a crisis, someone always rushes to make cups of tea, saying 'i'll put the kettle on'... by the way, this is a bit tongue in cheek, i think i am just looking for an excuse to talk about eastenders, nobody i know watches it!

Magic tea! Any crisis in England is solved by the making of a cup of tea. Yes,we really do drink it that much! The beer drinking is also pretty popular.The only thing I would criticize is that nobody really drinks in the same pub all the time.Every wedding,funeral,birthday or any other celebration in Eastenders has to be centered around The Vic,It isn't the only pub in the world!

Well I don't drink tea as I hate it!! But do drink alot of coffee, and if I had a load of money I would defo be in the pub downing pints every night!!!

well I know in times of crisis most people I know DO make a cup of tea, I think it just gives people something to do, and something to focus on.
And pubs and clubs are a huge way of life in the UK, it's a major way of socialising

my question is why no-one ever actually leaves the square-ever, and they all have mobiles, why? they can always see everyone they ever talk to!!!
