can anyone help me. Iam going out with my partner on saturday night so i have bought a new dress. Its a black and white smock dress which i was going to wear with leggings. The thing is when i put it on to have a look it makes me look really frumpy although if i put a belt just under my bustline it looks slightly better.
What can i do.
I weigh 10 stone and dont believe i am fat in any way

I have a smock dress that makes me look a lot bigger than I am (I'm a size 12 and my sister accused me of buying a maternity dress!)
The best thing you can do is decide its a nice dress and anyone who cares about you knows you're not as big as you think you are in that dress and everyone else, well who cares? I did this on friday night and had a great time just because i felt confident and didn't care about what others thought!

Unfortunatley these smock dresses are designed that way no matter how skinny you are you'll still look slightly heavier or frumpy, make sure you wear high heels and maybe put a nice wide belt under your bustline like you said.

Maybe the type of dress doesnt suit your body? That does not mean you are fat at all, as not everyone looks great in every piece of clothing. I am not fat either, but some skirts and dresses ( and tops) make me feel looking like a hippo. And Smock dresses are very tricky in that respect: some people loko awesome in them, others not. They are just very difficult clothes.
Why didnt you try it on before you bought it, if I may ask? Maybe you can return it and buy something in which you will look stunning and comfortable. Because not feeling comfortable in what you wair always makes someone look less stunning then people who are confident that they look great.

Do you like this dress much? If not so, you'd better put on something else. If you do, wear it with a belt under bustline and forget about looking fat.

You obviously arent fat if you are ten stone!
You are average weight, if you look frumpy in that dress i'm sure your partner wouldnt mind seeing it on the bedroom floor later that night hehe!!
No but seriously if you are conscious about looking frumpy just keep your back straight and push your chest out, that should work!

I had the same problem but with a different kind of dress. Im a size 10 too but like you im not fat. Try some support shorts, i know they are not very flattering to look at but they made all the difference, just tidied everything up!

Emotional spending is called the type of spending that makes us feel good. That usually means that we don't necessarily need the purchased product.
I suppose that dress was the one that you imagined that you look trendy and fabulous but in the end of the day when the 'high' of the emotional spending disappeared you realized that it doesn't flatter you that much after all.
Its' not about how fat you think you are, it's just the after effects of the high.
You look gorgeous when you feel lovable, queen of the world, ready to be noticed and admired.
You feel crap when you feel that your needs are not met and that you are trapped somehow.
The dress is just the costume in the theater of your mood.
You decide the role.
Go get them girl!

Well if you are ten stone you can't possibly be fat! My advise is to wear the belt, especially if it makes you feel better about yourself. If you are confident about how you look your partner will definately notice and take it as a positive factor. Enjoy your night!

girl theyre people out there who are fatter than you, you should where the dress without the belt and dont be afraid to show off your figure. where the dress and you'll look great it dosent what people say about you as long as you know you look geat thats all that matters.

You have to be careful with smocks.They were showing different styles on GMTV this morning, you have to be reed thin to get away with them I think.
But some with added belt did look better others just looked like maternity wear.
