Well, that's what one survey said.
But who knows who the participants being surveyed were. If they had a bunch of louts, they could all buy their coffee at the "Tiger Mart" on the corner, which is equivilent to drinking . . well never mind about that.
It's all a matter of personal taste. I grew up in a household that brewed very strong coffee, an after effect of my grandfather's stint in the Navy in WWII, when they brewed "Third Watch" coffee when they were on duty.
Consequently, I like starbucks. Sometimes I get a red-eye or black-eye to make sure its strong enough.
But if you want a good joint in NYC, check out Broken Cup on 22nd st at first ave. Funkly, eclectic, friendly, and great coffee.

The only Starbucks coffee i can drink is the breakfast blend. Most of their coffee is so rich it is like drinking crude oil. i don't like flavored coffee either. I want my coffee to taste like coffee.
McDonald's coffee is good but, as some have already mentioned, it is not always fresh. When it is fresh it is good but Dunkin Donuts is the best coffee around and it is always fresh. $.99 for a big coffee compared to $3 at Starbucks and it is 100% better.
We still go to Starbucks occasionally because my wife loves their Chai Tea Latte and she has me drinking that as well.
Dunkin Donuts all the way.

I was really surprised at how good the new McDonalds coffee is. I like it better than Starbucks, I find their coffee too bitter to be able to have a taste. Do, I like McDonalds better!

Are we talking the express coffee or the coffee that you wait more than 30 seconds for?
If you're a coffee coniseur you wouldn't drink either.
Personally I think Starbucks is foul and bitter not even fit for my worst enemy. I only drink McDonald's coffee when i'm desperate for a caffeine fix and the Coke machine is busted.

Yes if you don't like the dark starbucks coffee. But, McDonalds coffee has to be fresh for it to taste the best but even at its worst it still tastes better than starbucks.

i've always thought McDonalds coffee was better, before I heard this. Starbucks has always seemed bitter to me- almost like old coffee...hard to explain what i mean, but i do think Mcdonalds is better.
More than any of them, I think Dunkin Donuts is the best. Try it! they have the best coffee, anywhere, as far as "fast food" type places.

They have a new blend of coffee at McDonald's which is suprisingly smooth, and not nearly as bitter as it used to be. I'd still drink a Starbucks coffee over McD's anyday, but in a rush...McD's isn't too bad.

Depends on personal preference. I like McDonalds coffee better. But, I only drink their coffee when I can't find a Tim Hortons nearby...which is unlikely here in Canada as they're on every corner.

I don't know if it's better, but McD's coffee is pretty good, and at a dollar a cup, it's not too shabby! I'd be happy to drink McDonalds coffee anytime I need a cup

Oh my gosh yes!!!!! But only if you can get it made fresh. Starbucks coffee is always fresh, but McDonald's will let theirs sit around, and try to serve it to you, unless you call them out on it. Smooth, bold and Yummy!!!!!
