It seems the minority has rights over the majority.

It's not about the minority having rights over the majority, it's about the majority not being able to deny rights to the minority.

And yes, one of the great things about America is we have so many rights. Although I will say many of those rights have been bastardized to the point they don't mean what was intended anymore.

The Rights issue has been "bastardized" by the politics of our time. Instaed of just keeping minority rights . The minority has power over the majority. This started in the After Civil-Rights movement of the 70's and 80's. The push to get more freedom was overtaken by the push to get more power.

While majority in America does rule there has to be safeguards against discriminating against a minority. The rights of minoritys must be protected in order to have a free society. Who knows someday you could be the minority and want your rights protected also.

Since when? Personal rights have been slowly taken away over the past 20 years. The religious right has run the government for six years and look where that's got us. The "moral" rt wing legislators are the most corrupt bunch we have seen in decades.

LOL I went in Walmarts a couple of days ago and began to think I was a minority. I'm white.

Its called "Smoke and Mirrors"; rights in this country are sacrificed to the mighty dollar and its greedy whore mongers. Just examine our last election; polls on our troops in the Middle-east, and recently this week; the Senate refusal to even discuss the matter of holding its obligation (Power of the Purse), regarding checks and balances.
