We have a few days of snow and it practically brings the country (U.K.) to a near standstill.Schools shut, trains cancelled, flights cancelled, roads closed etc, etc, etc.I mean, it's not as if we have never seen snow before. Is it just a excuse to have a day off?Oh and guess what, the same will happen next year!If any country wants to take the U.K. over, don't bomb us, just get yourself a snow making machine!

Totally agree with you, were I live they have already started sending the kids home, we haven't even got an inch of snow yet, now mothers and fathers are going to have to ring or run round looking for people to take in their kids while there in work or worst still have to take the day off to come home and lose money over it, none of our roads are shut, all the kids at the school live local and the furthest any of the teachers live from the school is 4 miles, on a main road and bus route so she has no excuse not to come into work or leave early as that road is always kept clear, your right, its just a good excuse for a day off and to put parents who are already struggling money wise in an even worse position, makes me sick.

You are preaching to the converted. I live on high ground in the country and have had to cancel my morning meeting as it is probable that I will be cut off by the snow.

You are so right. It's February, for crying out loud. What did they expect, tropical thunderstorms?
I think it's fantastic, I had a great time on the way to school with the kids this morning :o)

i think our severe congestion on the roads are the main reason along with the snow factor.
