it was located right next a convenience store called jordan Marsh or Filene's back in the 80s, it is now a hotel. It was close during the early 90s I was wondering whats it's called and what happen to the place?

I'm pretty sure it was called the LaFayette Mall. I don't know what happened to it...I was just a kid back then.

There are 2 main malls in Boston...Prudential, which is right off the green line, and Copley plaza off the orange line i believe. both have great shopping : ), and good restaurants. The mall at Chesnut Hill and the Atrium mall on Boylston St. is also pretty good. Another nearby mall would be the Cambridge galleria, which is also pretty nice, however that isnt in downtown boston, and is in Cambridge instead. And, Arsenal Mall in Watertown. Other malls around boston include Natick Mall, Burlington Mall, Northshore Mall, and Liberty Tree Mall.

I think that was "Downtown Crossing." It was redeveloped (unsuccessfully) and the main stores of the area were bought up by chains (like Federated Dept stores which bought Jordan Marsh and made it into a Macy's).
