This company was once in our area and offered to jet-spray the moss off our roof... and said their spray was treated with a chemical to prevent further moss growth. £300.

Its very mossy our area... roof covered in quite alof of it... so my parents agreed to it.

Nightmare. Their high powered jet hoses cleared the moss off readily enough.. but the sprayoff was all in the air... and made our neighbours house filthy. Their windows were black... and moss had gotten everywhere... all over their garden.. driveway.. path.... but especially their windows were black gunge. (ours were similarly as bad). Also the wideboys didn't clear out the gutters of the moss... so we had to get that sorted after too.

They were furious (lol).... but calmed down... we had to pay £140 for a professional window cleaner on emergency to next day clean their windows and I stumped up some cash (£10) for neighbour to get car washed.

Moss is back on parents roof... in future i would use manual route and like one of those thin metal tools to scrape off the moss pieces individually... but it is a pain working on a roof... dangerous as well.... so maybe worth paying for someone with the experience.

GL + hope you can draw lessons from my experience.

Seems the mas would insulate the tiles and protect roof. I think stringing a copper wire along the top of the roof so that the rain washes down is a deterrent to moss and mildew. Probably have to scrape it off first. Good luck

hire a roof ladder unless the pitch is shallow enough to walk up ..start at top ..use a scraper or pointing trowel scrape the moss off it comes off easy then brush tiles with a stiff hand brush be careful you do not slip on the moss you have loosened

You can attach a couple bare copper wires, one at the ridge and one half way down, all the way across the roof..The copper salts produced by the copper and the rain will kill the moss and prevent more from growing

If the roof has asbestos in it, I wouldn't touch it with a pole.
