Hi, I am thinking about living in East London, but am worried that I might find it hard to adapt to the culture, and have language difficulties. I am white and 100% British, and speak perfect English. Also would I need any jabs to visit? thanks

Don't do it! I lived in Bromley-By-Bow (near Stratford) for six months. I hated it.

I was the only white person there and always felt like I was being threatened if I so much as walked down the street, even though statistically it may be just as safe as many other parts of London.

You will not be able to understand a word anyone says. They speak English apparently, but it does not represent any form of English that I've ever heard. Which is odd, because most of the people (especially the young ones) are English-born, it's not like they're all immigrants.

In terms of vaccinations, I think these are only necessary if you plan to eat in the restaurants and cafes, which I wouldn't recommend.

BTW before anyone reports me for being racist - I am NOT racist. I now live near Wood Green so as a white person I am still in the minority. But people in Wood Green can speak in a way which you can understand and you can go to the shops without feeling like you're going to get shot.

I think they speak every kind of laugage over there except ENGLISH ! You're a bit mad moving that way.I know housings cheap and might be good investment when they build the olympics but you should tru South East London. At least the roads network is a bit better and there are more open green spaces and not that for from the lovely Kent country side.

My partner has worked in different parts of and still works over in East London and says it is such a dive no matter what part you look at !!!

The primary language of the East end of London is clearly German spoken with a marked Swiss accent.

A form of English call Cockney. From St Pauls to Stratford, then east of that point something called Estuary (Essex, North Kent) I would suggest you contact your GP, it's best to be on the safe side!

As you clearly speak Caustic Wit fluently, you may have problems making yourself understood. Ha ha! I would recommend that get your Right Hook jab before you go in case of any drunken fights...
