No snow yet today in North Norfolk. Yes, it never ceases to amaze me how a tiny bit of snow can cause such chaos. I suppose our roads are so crowded anyway that it doesn't take much to jam them up. I was once stuck in my car in heavy snow for 5 hours on a dual carriageway because one lorry had tried to overtake another on a hill, and they both got stuck!

Just a TIP for driving....
"Always drive in a gear higher than the gear you would normally be in" That is, for example, use 2nd from a standing start. The logic here is that you have a grip on the road, gentle..very gentle use of power and you maintain that grip, like stiction. Hard acceleration, and you loose it...too much power, slide....
Was lucky enough to have 4 speed Auto box.... great, top manual, touch of throttle, gentle roll on the torque converter.
If you get spray on your windscreen from car ahead, you are too damn close!!!!!!!

Actually I think the majority of people are perfectly able to resume life in snowy conditions, its the one or two people who are useless at driving in the snow who cause traffic problems along with all the media hype.

I agree with the earlof, people(particularly in the South-and I have lived there) drive in their usual fashion, braking at the last minute etc, it's no problem if you keep off that brake, use the gears and most important of all, think well ahead.

Snow in the UK, in the middle of winter - shocker!!! - That'll be the global warming in action then.
At last! The "Chelsea Tractor" brigade will be able to justify their 4 x 4's.

Only 2 inches of snow here in Coventry, but it's been enough to grind the city to a halt.
Personally, I'm not complaining - I was allowed to leave work early because of it.
More fuss please! I want tomorrow off too!
