applying vasthu before constructing?

Question

i am proposing to build a portico to my north facing house. since the portico will be built in the centre, NE Corner and NW Corner gets cut. is this ok as per vasthu.
alternatively can i just build a cantilever projection replacing portico. since cantilever will not have any supporting pillars.

It won't do anything; it's just folklore. How could construction have evil or good tendencies? . I don't understand why countries that are supposedly upcoming technical powers still believe in superstitions. It seems contradictory to logic. You may want to ask this in the myths and folklore secion. It's definitely not science.
