I am a student in a boarding school hundreds of miles away from my family. I miss them a lot and im trying my best to make friends to not miss them as much. But im not exactly the kind of people who likes fist fighting all the time. Im quite skinny, but also trying my best to get strong and buff. Im also underaged, an asian, and some Australians arent too fond of us. What should I do to make more friends, and lead a happier and fulfilling school life?

It's hard to do but you need to approach people and try to make friends.

Mny people will be friendly if you approach them, but be wary of they see you as an outsider. When people react badly it is because they are fearful, not becuase of you. You can't change them all but you can be open and ready for the opportunity of new friends.

Clubs and social groups are a good channel. Sports, church, special interests (eg board games, music, and more.)

Teenages often join tribes that identify themselves by the way they dress. Consider how you look and who are the people who have similar interests.

If it is the school nerds join them. You'll have friends at least and there is nothing worng with being a nerd. When you are 30 your girlfriend will be hot and you'll be rich and happy.

If it's people into music try out their music and see of you like it. Buy a ramones T-shirt and wear it at sport.

And steer clear of kids who are fighting. You don't need them as friends.

Most people will see past the fact that you look different to them. From my group of friends at school, there were only 2 "Aussies", with about 9 different nationalities. It's only a problem if you let it be. See past the fact that they're not Asian, & they'll see past the fact that you are. You're not the only Asian in the country, so you're not some kind of strange being to us, & you probably notice it more than your potential friends would. Be yourself & act how you would if you were home. A friend is a friend, no matter what nationality. If you get some looney that's being racist, remember that it's one person, and not how the whole country feels. Good luck. Be yourself & you'll be right! ;)

Just be yourself your colour isn't what matters the most its what you do. I don't think we really are that bad we don't all wanna kick the crap outta Asians like yourself...well I am happy to be friends with anyone no matter their colour. Maybe just a social club though your school i'm sure they have them and good luck.

G'day. Most blokes aren't that picky. Just hang with those who seem friendly and be friendly in return. You'll be fine. Practice your 'strine and do what you can to be a mate.
