All news sources are biases, regardless of what they claim.

Let's take the very common subject of US troops in Iraq right now...

You've got Republicans, Democrats, Liberals, etc. Depending on which group runs the particular news source, or at least whatever party the particular journalist is coming from, will inevitably have an impact on how a story is told and portrayed.

The only way to get an overall "fair and balanced" view on an issue is to read/listen to multiple news sources. I read the news throughout the day but not just from one source. I favor FOX News, but that doesn't mean I follow only what they say. I get most of my news via the internet and whenever I read the news, I don't just stick to one site. I will read FOX News, CNN, Yahoo news, USA Today, and one or two others.

I believe this is the only way to get all sides to the story and in the end, be able to form my own opinion on matters in the news, be it a minor story or a headliner.

There is no such thing as unbiased news. This is a myth. Even the selection of stories from day-to-day is a reflection of bias.

Try to get news from multiple sources -- but beware about just looking at the masthead. A lot of newspapers, especially local and small regional papers just get their content from AP and Reuters.

I do not think any news source is unbiased. They all have an agenda. The reporters do not ask probing questions and more often than not let the interviewee off the hook. It often times appears that the news story is not researched.
