some people think philippines is beautiful, some says it is not. To me, philippines is a beautiful country. Go see it yourself and then you'll know how beautiful it is. If you've been there and still think it isn't, then I guess I couldn't say anything bout it because people alway have different way of seeing and appreciating the beauty..

You ask a foreigner who has been there... like myself. I am English and I adore the Philippines... The only thing I have difficulty with is the HUMUDITY... H-U-M-I-D-I-T-Y... and the B-L-A-Z-I-N-G SUN AND more HUMIDITY !!!!!!!! --- Otherwise, Philippines is heaven... both the place and its people. But before you can say it is beautiful you have to visit Baguio !!! Loved it... when I was tired of the heat in Manila Baguio was blessing !!! Its airport is at 5,000 feet and that 's cool temperature-wise. -- I spent Xmas 2001 in San Pedro Laguna (my wife's place of origin) and Xmas 2005 and Xmas 2006 in there... Not going there Xmas 2007 but I believe will be back in 2008. I hope the Philippines people never change but remain the wonderful people that they are... they are abreath of fresh air in tis rotten planet where killing each other has become like a sport...

It is stunning with it's natural beauty, lovely islands and clean air and seas (outside the main cities).
However, I wish that Filipinos saw the same beauty as I do - they're stilling cutting down the trees, blowing up the reefs and killing every wild animal they come across out in the bondoc near to the island I live on.
They're also capable of throwing their plastic rubbish and food wrappers straight on the ground, even when the rubbish bins are right next to them, and even worse, they throw all their crap into the sea. We have so many beautiful places around this area, but if Filipinos have been there for a day out, the amount of rubbish they leave lying around actually prevents me from going there.
I see foreign tourists walking around, as I do a lot of the time, picking up Filipino bloody rubbish to return these areas to their former beauty.
It's about time, I think, that Filipinos, all Asians really, were educated at school level about the disposal of rubbish to keep what beauty they have left, pristine and un-sullied with human detritus!!!

Tequila Mike this time I agree with what you say.
If you take Manila out of the equation the Phils is a beautiful place.
Don't get me wrong the majority of people that I have met in Manila have been nice.
I have spent a lot of my time in various provinces and have gotten to know many people. One elderly couple I met invited me to share their lunch in their nipha hut. All it was was boiled rice and fried fish but it was all they had and I was even given the honour of using their only fork. Simple as it was I would not be able to buy that meal in the most expensive restaurant. That is the real beauty of the Phils.
