I believe that North East India has a lot to offer to the spectra of Indian society. Sadly, these beautiful people with beautiful cultures have been sidelined and ignored by the Indian government for too long and so they are justly indignant and to my knowledge there are certain factions in the NE who are fighting for an independant homeland. I guess they feel if the Indian government won't look after their needs then they might as well be the rulers of their destiny.
I would advice every Indian who loves their ancient land to learn more about the NE and the many tribes and peoples there in a first step effort to keep India whole and united. If you get to know these wonderful people then you will contribute to an equal and united Indian society.

I just love north-eastern people a lot. They inspire me a lot. I can't find a logic but coming from a hill state ( I am from Uttarkhand and presently live in Delhi) I find them more skilled, more vibrant and also well-built and attractive. Once I tried to learn Manipuri from a friend. ( Though today I remember only 2 or 3 words but the most important ones - I love you.) I have not been there but I want to be there for long. I want to live in some villages there and enjoy their folk performances and martial arts also.
