I am too diverse to have just one favourite. I like very different types of music, so I can't compare, but I could probably choose one or two in each category...
Jazz: Michael Buble, caught in the act - because of his sense of humour
Rock: Nickelback or sevendust
rap: Fort minor - the rising tied- Hectic Lyrics!!
Rave: The guys who do come with me and put your hands up for detroit.
theres just a whole lotta good music out there!

For my part, I think the best band ever is INXS and the best singer ever is, of course, Michael Hutchence !
I am an 80's music fan, and this band has always known how to make new fans. The leader vocalist of this band was (and is still whereas he died in 1997) very charming. There was something special in his voice that I have never found in other band or maybe in the french band named "Indochine".
The single that I love from INXS ? ... Oh God, there are so many !... Maybe "Baby don't cry" or "Wonderful Girl"... In fact, I like all the musics they have made from the start until today... but I only have one "Best of INXS" and I wish I could buy the other.

Mariah Carey back in the early 90's. She had an multi-octive voice and she was classy back then as well. Not like now!
I liked the song 'All in your mind' from her debut album back in 1990.
Hope this helps...

I'd take Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart to my desert island, it would be all I'd need to listen to.
Amazing musicians and the best frontman ever.
I hear something new in it every time I listen to it.
