When I was a kid, I had such a mess inside my closet that my mother was always frightened to open it. Probably that stigma was created to make kids keep it clean and neat, because when I saw a movie about a monster hidding in a messy closet, I kept mine squared away ever since.

The only thing scary in my closet is all the spiders who have taken up residence in it. And they know just how to scare the begebes out of me!!!!!!!!!

Maybe because they are dark.An when you walk in them you feel closed in because of all the stuff in there. I close my closet at night when I sleep.

maybe because it's dark and sometimes it can be a little creepy... And also movies just LOVES making them that way. Lots of things are influenced by movies these days...
