Sorry for such an unoriginal and trivial ? but I'd value some feedback!
Just very quickly: I work in private lang. school overseas. Fellow teacher who I like a lot. Only spoken to her a few times but thought there might be something. Very rarely see her as we both only occasionally teach at this school. She is going to India for 2 weeks as an interpreter (might already be there not sure). Assuming she comes back what should I do - go public on it with all work colleagues? Loiter in the staffroom on the off chance she will pop in (bordering on stalking I think!) Drop a valentine's card in her post box (bear in mind if she's in India now she won't see it for a couple of weeks so might look stupid by then)...or just forget about it? .... need to get closure on this without looking a plank...

Some useful advice already! And a split decision so far. I'm sure both approaches are 'right'...I've suddenly remembered a friend of mine lives in Delhi and sent a couple of long, very interesting letters home - so I could drop these in the post box as being of potential interest - durrr, no wonder I've been single for so long;-)

At the outset, it is fair to say we all need to bounce ideas round on occasion. This is a great place to do it. No reason to feel odd about it.
I agree with those who say put it in her post box. First, she will be honoured, if not completely delighted. Secondly, you may have the start of a new romance, and Third, if she isn't interested, you have lost very little.
All the best!

P.S. If she is abroad it will make a rather pleasant greeting when she returns.

Don't go public till you're sure she reciprocates your feelings. Read up on India, become very interested and knowledgeable. Drop a note in her post box, telling her of your interest, and asking to hear about her trip, see her photos, etc. when she returns. That way you can communicate, maybe spend time with her and guage her feelings and back off if necessary, dignity intact.

Don't send the valentines if you are more than 10 years old. Don't go public until you have spoken with her. This is really simple - just ask her out, its not rocket science. Leave a note for her asking if she would like to meet up for a cofee or somethng sometime. Kepp it light and informal.

Put a valentines card in her post box, what have you got to lose! Also, make sure you sign it, don't make it anonymous. You'll regret it otherwise. She'll defo be complimented and it might lead to romance!

leave the valentine til next year,
when/if she gets back spend time getting to know her a bit better
any thing else you try to do will result in the undesired plank scenario!

Wait until she comes back, ask her out and hopefully she will say yes, if its meant to be then its meant to be, good luck.
