It's basically a spoof of the Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.

In the original, there's a talking raven who torments a man who lost his lover. In the spoof, by Pow, it's really a painted parrot.

The Raven is about a guy being tormented by a raven about his lost love Lenore. It represents the guys inability to move on from his own depression about losing love, in this sense, the raven is a manifestation of his own shortcomings, his inability to be at peace. Lenore's death is natural, and by him not being able to accept the natural, he invokes the unnatural raven who torments him.
