Spiderman is the story of a geeky kid who becomes a super hero. There are times when he wants to give in to his own greed, some times that he does. He's not perfect and he knows it. Its an underdog story- and people identify with that more easily than they do with any other kind. The basic story, plus the actors, the writing, and the movie as a whole... what's not to love?

The Smurfs may be an attractive caricature to make right into a movie. yet as well He-guy and he or she-Ra, Jem, Captain Planet, Tiger Sharks or street Frogs. i like the conception of the Wuzzles and the Gummie Bears. Strawberry Shortcake. i'd be tremendous for them to be made interior of an same style because the Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles action picture from the eighty's with costumed characters verses all the digitally more desirable stuff. for example, the old Hulk practice became spectacular, although both action picture that got here out years in the past were poor.

Well, highest grossing, like most records/cds sold, is a relative figure which the years distort.

In the 60s, a platinum or gold record was something really special, now they happen almost weekly. Is it because singers are so much better now? Not really. Back in the 60s there were maybe 50 million people in the us. So for a record to hit 1 million one out of every 50 had to buy it.
But now with 400 million in the us, only 1 out of every 400 have to buy it to hit platinum.

Same with movies.....
If a movie grossed 100 million in 1990 (when tickets were $5)
That's the same as a movie today grossing 200 million when tickets sell for $10 or more.
Yet everyone thinks the 200 million movie was better because it grossed more.

Spiderman also had a huge pre-release advertising campaign, and a huge pre-existing fan base behind it. It is certainly not the best of the superhero movies made. Spawn would have to rank up there as the best film, due to the characterisation, complexity and 'darkness'.

The actors in it, thats why.

Now, tell me, why didn't Superman Returns get the acclaim it deserved? Becuase no one knows (off the top of their heads) what that guys name is...(Brandon Routh by the way)
