Grizzly bear, definitely!! I watched this show on bears once, they proved that grizzly's could break a human thigh bone - strongest bone in your body - with two bites!!!

Tigers can apparently be deterred from attacking you if you stand up to them AND appear threatening to them! well at least to a mother tiger with cubs - some other show i watched a guy did this - stood as tall as he could and yelled out at the top of his lungs to appear threatening to the tiger and it stopped in its tracks. I think a tiger would definitely back down to a bear.

bears are unlike lions and tigers, they are omnivores and opportunist hunters - they'll eat whatever they can - grass, berries, rodents, deer, fish, human.

Not too sure which would be next dangerous between lions and tigers though. both really only fear elephants. Tigers tend to sneak up on their prey, lions hunt in groups.

Tough question. As far as strength, the bear, actually the Kodiak is even larger than the Griz. But in a fight the tiger is a pretty tough contender because of its agility and ability to leap great distances. It would be a tough fight between a tiger and a Griz, or Kodiak. I would hate to see it.

My vote goes to the grizzly. On top of being the largest, they are also reputed to have the foulest dispositions.
