Some ghosts i have seen face on , others i only get signs they are there, knocking at doors and windows glass shaking, but nothing there to do that.

I think it really dose depend on the spirit if it wants to be seen or not.

That is a mystery. Why do some just have ghosts that move objects and turn on the water? Some must be shyer than others?

It has to do with practicality really. It takes effort and energy to use ectoplasm to make something. They want to make sure it's worth the effort.
