how come I can only see the "shadow people" out of the corners of my eyes?

Perhaps you scare them with your unshaded persona? Shadow people are notoriously shy and tend not to interact with outsiders or strangers. It is their way and you should learn to respect that. Try approaching a shadow person side-on and initiate a simple unoffensive conversation, you may be pleasantly surprised with the friendly response you receive.

Then again, maybe you have opposite-tunnel vision and can't see things straight ahead. If that's the case I suggest you make an appointment with your local eye doctor.

I have only seen two shadow people one was in my bedroom the other outside my bedroom.
mind you they were a fair few years apart.
The girl i saw first was front on in my bedroom.
of course at first i was very frightened by her. But could still tell alot about her as in looks.. even though it was just a shadow.

The man outside the bedroom i dont know very well but didnt feel to happy about him.. i made sure i was protected and sheilded.
Just didnt feel right.

Be grateful that they disappear when you look right at them.

I also only saw them out of the corners of my eyes, but being curious by nature, started trying to catch them head on. I was pretty unsuccessful, until they decided to start showing themselves, I guess.
Now they have their fun with, appearing and vanishing suddenly, when I least expect it. When I am in the right (or wrong) frame of mind, they can keep me awake just by 'being' in my house, whether they're in my bedroom or in other room in the house; they just make their presence obvious.

When I've seen them, it's never been out of the corner of my eye. Not sure why.

I would guess they only want certain people to be able to see them?
