whenever i start up my laptop, it makes a noice for about 2-3 secounds and then stops...y is it happening and how can i prevent it from happening?

My Toshiba does it every 6 months or so just remove the cooling fan and lubricate and clean it

Most probably this could be the Hard Disk. If so you cannot stop it unless the HD is defective and you replace it.
