Absolutly love the fiction works. The Foundation and Robot series were excellent. He was a very prolific writer on many topics. The hard science books were a little over my head.

Isacc Asimov was a great writer of his time. I have only read a couple of his novels. I would say his writing is very technical and complicated to say the least. It was over my head. I found myself going to the online dictionary so much while reading his novels. I am not a huge sci-fi fan. I'm more in to fantasy(wizards, dragons, elves, etc.) but I give respect where respect is due. This man was very intelligent and had one of the best imaginations in my opinion.

He was my all time favorite author of fiction and non-fiction / science. Of course, his works are dated now, but he did 2 things with his writing ALL writers should learn to do: 1. If you write science fiction, you had better know science. 2. He NEVER cheated the reader or insulted their intelligience with lame plot contrivances. (like Stephen King and Michael Crichton routinely did and I can't believe they never got called on it, and why did they get way more credit than they deserve? ) But I digress.
By the way, Asimov remains the only author to have books in every major Dewy-Decimal category.

A seminal writer of science fiction. It's a pity there aren't more writers like him around today, instead of all this silly fantasy stuff.
