The theory of a woman's role in society has changed throughout time. Some feel that woman should be more career-oriented, while others think their role is in the home with their children. More extreme cases observe that women should be more independent from men. What is your opinion on a woman's role in society?

I understand that everyone has different circumstances, but my question is what would be best for society-a woman in the workplace or a woman at home raising her children and teaching them values?

Women are still the caretakers of the young! If we abandon our roles who will mold the next generation? A country of people is only as good as the one who rocks the cradle. Who else will hand down values and morals and respect? We have an opportunity to form and shape a generation of people who can either achieve great things or reflect our love of materialism. I don't know about being more independent from men, because women should work along with men to form our children's lives. The most important thing a child can see is when there is unity and harmony in a family unit. The best gift you can give your children is a united family! Women need to rethink what is important and what is not! Only then will our society be benefited by strong families and high moral values!

I think a women's role in society can be characterized by all of the above. Personally, I believe women should be career oriented, independent, and mothers/homemakers. Having a career gives a a person a sense of contributing to not only your household but to society as well, additionally, having a career and earning your money affords one options and therefore independence. Being a mother is no less important than the other two, if anything being a mother should encourage a women to acquire the necessary skills to be able to care for and provide for her children under any circumstances. However, it is up to each woman individually to decide for herself what her role in society will be, this decision should be made independent of outside influences.

I know many people disagree with me, but my own personal opinion is that a woman's role is at home, with her kids and financially dependent on a man...unless she can do some work that will not interfere with her other duties.
I believe someone should be taking care of the kids and the house, it's not school, not a maid and definitely not a nanny. This is where a wife and a mother's role come. And I think this is the only way to raise a fine generation and hope for a better future.
Women should be able to take care of themselves, even financially, but this should not necessarily be their role. It is such a relief for some men that wives work and help with expenses, because they take part of the burden off their shoulders, and yet that does not necessarily mean men would take half the burden of the house and children duties!
And not women nor men can possibly do everything at the same time with enough efficiency.
