i am too embarrassed to tell my grandma i am getting a Pap Smear. i don't want her to think i am sexually active.

theres noting to be ashamed of at all. pap smears are perfectly normal and most women or girls should get them just to make sure everything is allright (down there)
i mean i kid you not, pap smears arent necc. fun or "not" awkward, but its not a big deal at all.

no it's completely natural but if your grandma is hip she will know because you will not get a pap until you are sexually active or if you have a really serious gyno problem and if that the case she will only look at it as a important medical procedure

i just had my first one the other day. I kept cancelling appointments cause i would get so nervous. But I got a really nice dr. I was shaky and it was very akward and not fun. And uncomfortable and for me it did hurt a tiny tiny bit, even though they say it doesn't. Anyways it was fairly quick and I'm glad you only have to do it once a year.

She should understand that it is a normal part of a pelvic exam. Besides, why would you tell her in the first place?
