hmmm ok..the view is nice..the fact that we are a mile from our nearest neighbor.. i suppose .. the wildlife.. not talking about the night wildlife.. the same people you deal with all the time.. being able to call the bank president at night time.. a place where we can get just about what we need .. its not like we need alot..but if they dont have it here then we probably dont need it or can order it.. so well its a nice little town with not too much american history but 12000 years of aborigine history that we know of and probably more..Its looks as if you can reach up and pull the stars from the heavens and its the only place i have ever lived where you can see the milky way with the naked eye or you can walk out in your backyard and go practice your rifle.. its a real old west type town.. and will probably stay that way for another 50 or so years.

I live near the town of Tomar in Central Portugal. I love the fact although it's popular with tourists it's not overrun. There is a really laid back feel. Businesses still shut for an hour and a half at lunch time.
There's a great big lake just five minutes from our house, where we swim in the summer. There are castles galore to explore - remanents from the Knights Templar days. I love the little narrow, cobbled streets.Eating out is cheap - 5€ for a three course meal.
The people are really helpful and the weather's great.

I live in Rijeka and its great being right on the sea, but only 1 1/2 hrs from a big, beautiful forrest with a fresh water lake.
I like the fact that I can drive to Italy & Slovenia in 1 1/2 hrs, or Austria & Germany in about 5 hrs.
The shopping here just went first class with the opening of the biggest shopping centre in Croatia.
The coffee is always fresh and very cheap

I could go on all day, Rijeka is a wonderful city!!
