It was a great game and a great atmosphere for soccer. It was my first time at an international soccer game and I saw up close the love and passion that another country shows for soccer.
I feel like Mexico missed out on so many opportunities to control the game, and the United States took better advantage of the ones they were given. It was clear from the beginning that neither team, especially Mexico, saw this as a friendly or exhibition game, and the two early yellow cards showed that. Mexico showed greater savvy with the ball and certainly displayed a prowess for attacking the back line of the USA. Conrad's goal was certainly not a stroke of luck, but a well executed corner from Donovan, in about the same spot that Borgetti almost scored from in the first half. The USA back line showed flashes of brilliance all night, but also had serious lapses, especially in the second half. The final goal by Donovan was a great individual play, and his feign to Eddie Johnson was a brilliant move to confuse the goalkeeper.
The sportsmanship at the end of the game left a lot to be desired, but thankfully, none of the players poor example was reflected in the crowd. I am new to the soccer world and appreciated the display of pride from the Mexican fans, and it made me want to see Mexico score a goal, if only to hear the fans blow the rest of the roof off of the building.

What retard can call Americans racist and then post the following comments:
"All you racist idiots need to get out of you trailer parks and actually travel to MEXICO before you comment on it."
"Get some education and maybe you would have money to spend and travel."
I love that you wrote "get some education".......You "get educated", you do not "get some education"
Also, while you are complaining about Landon "taunting" the Mexican defender, if you don't want him to do it then stop him.
And maybe you forgot about all the Mexican fans chanting "Osama, Osama" a few years ago when we played you in Mexico.
Finally, it was the perfect ending to the game when Mexico ran off the field without shaking hands(again). Typical of this Mexican team which can't come to grips with the fact that we are better then them at "their" sport.

Awesome game, i was there and it was beautiful to see futbol played in the desert!
The goals were NOT lucky, just keep telling yourself that to make you feel better. Looking for excuses does not change the fact that USA owns Mexico.
The corner kick was a beautiful play, perfectly bent by Donovan and headed in by Conrad.
The second goal a Mexico player passed the ball back to the Ref, why? The ball bounced off the Ref to Donovan, who then burnt a mexico defender, then sat Sanchez on his rear for the second goal. It's not luck when our forward is FASTER than your defender.
Both goals were textbook and that is how futbol is played.
It was a beautiful game, and i am glad i got to be a part of it.

Italy scored an own goal vs the US, did you miss that part?? Italy is not a high scoring team, keeping them to one goal or scoreless is not a great accomplishment. Italy has been a defensive team for many years. They don't even score much vs teams that Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Germany, usually blow out. Remember that in the WC qualifiers Mexico was the highest scoring team, and France was the lowest scoring team. Italy was close to the bottom. It doesn't matter the competition you still have to play the game, so don's day Mexico plays vs bad teams. Look at the overall record an Mexico still owns the US. When you get to atleast .500 AVG then talk.
Wait until Copa America and Copa Oro to see the real Mexican Team. Mexico is the U-17 World Champions. The top talent will be ready for next WC in S. Africa.
Did you watch the game?? Mexico dominated futbolistically. USA won with lucky breaks. Mexico still dominated. How classy is the US team. Did you see Landon the European reject, taunting after he got a lucky bounce from the ref before the second goal or how about disresspecting the spanish media who was trying to award him the player of the game. Eddie Robinson bumping his chest at Rafa Marquez?? Classless?? I gues a dog doesn't snif his own tail. Americans are hated around the world. Its not because of race, everyone hates the US because of their arrogance. How far did the US make it in the WC2006 Germany??? And how far did Mexico make it?? Check Mexico's record vs BRAZIL, ARGENTINA. Teams that matter. Remmember the US has several weeks practicing and the Mexican team has about 3 days of practice.
How does it it feel getting owned by Mexico in The World Baseball Classic. Latinos are better than you in your own sport. get a new sport. Nuff Said!
Why can Latinos learn 2-3 languages and american whites can berely learn one. A la verga contigo pinche guero hijo de puta. VIVA MEXICO! MEXICO also kicks the sh!t out of american boxers!!!
All you racist idiots need to get out of you trailer parks and actually travel to MEXICO before you comment on it. How can you comment on somewhere you have never been. Get some education and maybe you would have money to spend and travel, instead of wasting your time on your racist rants.
Keep voting for guys like Bush so he can show what Americans are all about. Arrogant idiots that can't recognize or accept defeat. The US has less support than Iran, Syrya, and even North Korea. How do you like dem apples. Your economy also depends on you abusing and enslaving immigrants like you did to the blacks. I guess once a tyrant always a tyrant.
He was taunting before he got the goal, he turned around and told the Mexican defender to catch him. Its OK to celebrate not taunt. That's why ppl get their *** kicked. JOGA BONITO!!

okay take away Donovans goal then U.S. still wins 1-0. how did Mexico dominate the game when they got another L in the books?2-0. Mexico fans are just pissed because they cant beat the U.S. in the U.S. As soon as the game was over, the Mexico players ran off the field with their heads down and their tails between their legs. i dont see why Mexico fans are mad at Donovan. Every soccer player celebrates when he scores. They are just mad because they couldnt score. 2-0! nuff said. shut up! couldnt even win at their own sport.

mexico is better? first of all in da WC, U.S had a tougher group than mexico, we had da champs italy...who da hell was in dat group wit mex? iran and angola..they tied to angola...donovan decided to leave europe. so get dat straight too..Donavan a european reject???what about Borgetti?? Fonseca??oh the "famous" Cua???Wow mex beat us at baseball. we are dominating in "their" sport, soccer...and they have only one win in da baseball tournament going on now....we have lost only once to mex in da last seven yrs, which was in mexico...we have won all other ones..remember WC 2002? who won? U.S..and that was a game of far more importants...forget about history..think of da present and future U.S is dominating in soccer and it will stay dat way...its da begining of a new era.....by da way, how many mexicans are playing in europe compared to da amount of americans?.....why cant mexicans admitt defeat...sore losers!!!!they suck....
so wat if U.S trained longer. da players we had have no experience and play in MLS. Mexico on da other hand had players wit way more experience and nine of those players were on da WC Germany roster..so dont use any excuses..a loss is a loss...and dats with our mediocre team..imaging if we had used our european players..we would have massacred da mexicans..mex cant even make a squad full of euro players..how sad...we didnt even use our stars and mexico did...how far has mexico made it in da WC? quarters..and U.S? semifinals...
Moreover, Mexicans can not ever admit a loss to the United States..Their "excuse" does not ever change.."oh we played better, they just got lucky"..bs...luck does not last that long.. u know there are Latinos dat are american...
