This question has plauged me for some time now, Why do lesbians want a woman that looks like a man, act's like a man, talks like a man, and dresses like a man,but they say I don't want a man, I mean now they're having sex changes, but they keep saying the same thing i'm a lesbian I am not attracted to men in anyway, can some one please tell me what is the deal with that I would really like to know. Just say a gay man say's I want a man that is what he want's a man, but if he say's I want a man and get a man that dresses like a woman, act's like a woman, and want's him to get a sex change then that means he wants a woman right, anyway someone please fill me in on the reason this goes on.

[facetious remark alert] because they like everything about masculinity apart from a man's privates.
Seriously though - I think you might find that this is a generalisation there are many femme lesbians whose preference extends only to femme lesbians just as there are those who prefer butch ones.
There are gay men who like effeminate gay men (who would dress in skirts were it socially acceptable).
It's all a matter of taste and personal preference. And what does it matter? Outward looks only make up (a part of) the inital attraction - a relationship is based on so much more!

Ok, the secret is, YOU can't TELL if two feminine women who are walking together on the sidewalk are lovers or not. What I mean is, there's many feminine lesbians, but since you are only able to generalize in your assumptions you don't realize that there are many lesbians that don't look like that.
The same goes for men. There are some very macho burly bears out there, but since you are so close minded in your assumptions you would never be able to spot them, and therefore you need to ask these kind of questions.

Once you take the clothes off, it's a woman inside. Duh. Some people really like that. I think my wife's sexy as hell when she occasionally gets in what she calls her "Radclyffe Hall" moods and wears a man's suit, men's cologne, and a fedora. I think the butch UPS girl at my work is cute.
The same is true with effeminate men--you take off the clothes and makeup, that's a man underneath, and some people like that.
As for the sex changes, that's a whole different issue. That's the "T"--transgendered--in "LGBT," not the "L". A person willing to go through the surgery, hormones, name changes, etc. is desperate to change their body. They have been checked out by a psychiatrist. They *need* it to feel good in their bodies. If a lesbian stays with a partner who does this, her love is stronger than gender, or perhaps the woman is bi. Just as many straight women have stayed with men who became women.
Now, why do you wear the clothes you wear? Do you care if your partner's had plastic surgery, or wants to get some? What kinds of clothes do you look at for your partner? *sigh*

You don't know what the heck you're talking about. And a man can never make a lesbian women feel what she's looking for. Lesbian women ROCK!

hi, i'm not lesbian or gay but i feel i can answer this question.
First off, most (i cant speak for all of them) homosexuals do not want their partner to get a sex change.
Now, moving along.
Many lesbians have a tendancy to look masculine, ie dress and act masculine, with short hair and a lower voice. my personal experience with this type of lesbian is that they were commonly raised around guys (brothers, etc) and therefore, they weren't raised with the concepts of makeup, flirty clothes etc.
As for Homosexual males who dress or act feminine, this is the same basic concept. most homosexual males i've met are very comfortable around women. they enjoy hanging out with us, because women, over all, tend to be more accepting of a homosexual nature than a male is. not in all cases, but in a majority.
Now, i dont know if you've ever noticed, but whenever you hang out with someone, be it in a relationship or just a friendship, you will start to aquire their personality traits. the way they laugh, certian phrases they use, etc. for example, i always say "schweet" and "yesch". both of these my boyfriend has picked up on and now uses all the time.
therefore, hanging around women, a man, homosexual or not, will begin to display feminine body language and nature, due to the influence of being around females for so long.
homosexuals want a partner of the same gender for many reasons. some are purely attracted to that gender. some, like a friend of mine, are turned off by members of the opposite gender (my friend actually is completely disgusted by female parts. the thought of a females reproductive system makes him start gagging.) they aren't trying to 'substitute' and get a woman that looks like a man, they honestly love and cherish that woman.

personally, i'm not generally attracted to butch girls. my wife and i are both femme. femme lesbians are often invisible because we are read as straight. so there are a lot more femme lesbians out there than you realize!
also, why are you so concerned about what other peoples sexual preferences are? if someone is only attracted to people with purple hair, or crooked teeth, or an IQ over 160, does it matter to you? unless you want to date them, what other people are into isn't really any of your business.

It's been my experience that lesbians want a woman who loves them back. It doesn't matter what they look like. I've seen plenty of straight men who look a lot like girls. So I'm not sure what your point is.
