Almost. You have an expectation OF something not ON something. So, you had a false expectation of your relationship. However, if you dont tell the other person what that expectation was and why it proved false then you are pretty much telling them nothing.

Probably the better choice of words would be, "I had an unrealistic expectation of our relationship." Can you really define a "false expectation"? What can be false about an expectation?

The I at the beginning should be capitalized and you should use of instead of on . It should read: I had a false expectation of our relationship.

Probably better to say, I had false expectations about our relationship.

As long as you only had ONE expectation, yes. Or if there were more than one, then maybe you could say, "I had false expectations about our relationship"

The correct sentence is...........
" I had a false expectation OF our relationship ".
Everyone who said " OF " is correct.

The full stop should be after the apostrophe, by the way. :)

How about saying, " I expected something different from our relationship" ? Then go on to explain your case. Good Luck!
