Why is it that when everyone talks about MVP no one ever mentions Dwyane Wade?

What's the MVP based on anyway? The best player? The player that helps his team improve? The player that means so much to his team that if he's not in the lineup they don't have a chance of winning?

I think he fits all those.

He has to be the most dominant player in the league at the moment. Who can guard him without sending him to the line? He scores whenever he wants, however he wants.

His team won last year because of his play. The finals last year was the Dallas Mavericks vs Dwyane Wade. With him firing everything is different. Did anyone catch his fourth quarter the other day against Cleveland? That was sheer amazing. The Heat were gone. They were beaten. Flash would not let it happen. He willed a victory. I haven't seen anything like that since MJ.

When was the last time the Heat won a game without Flash playing? They can't win without him. Period.

I hope that puts all this MVP talk to rest.

damit I AM SO PISSED off at this topic i've been pissed for quite a while

Nash dOES NOT deserve MVP last season nor the season before

2004-2005 - Shaq shouda been MVP
2005-2006- LeBron or Kobe shoulda been MVP
2006-2007- I'm afraid that this is the only YEAR where I think NASH ACTUALLY DESERVES THE DAMN MVP.
The other candidate CLOSEST TO Nash is Dirk Nowitski. Kobe comes third. if Kobe wants to win the MVP. he better have his damn team at least 50 + wins. because there is no way in hell that Kobe can win the MVP since the Phoenix Suns are obviously goin to win the division unless the lakers suddenly reach greatness in a short period of time, which in reality , will never occur.
so ur answer is yes he will

Yeah, i think Nash will win a third MVP award mainly because he makes everyone around him a better player. He has improved his numbers from last season and the Suns are rolling this season. I also think he will have a strong opposition from Nowitzki because of the way Dallas's playing this season, but in the end Nash will get another award, with Dirk a close second and Kobe and Arenas in a distant 3rd and 4th.

I believe Steve Nash will win another MVP this year. He's such a good basketball player who can make all of his teammates play on their best game - every single night!

Besides, Suns has a great winning record thus far, so it will only increase his chance to win the MVP award.

Nash definitely should win another MVP award.
why?
here are the very simple reasons:
1. He is a very good individual player.
2. He is a very good team player.
3. He is the playmaker of his team, he is the kind of guy that brings life and spirit to the team, he is one of the main reasons why the suns are working hard and playing better this season.

and take note: they are still not playing their best basketball, i believe there's more to come from the Suns and Steve Nash.

Folks, let's be realistic here. Nash is one of the greatest of all-time; regardless his hairstyle, ballstyle or skin color. Unlike MLB, the NBA actually chooses the Most VALUABLE Player of the league (to their respective team). Could Nash beat Kobe, Shaq or Dirk 1-on-1? Probably not. 2-on-2? Not if he had to guard one of them. Does Kobe have better individual skills? Quite Probable. Yet who has made his team better the the past two years? Who do you take out of a team and they go from title-contender to lottery team? Shaq has a strong case for this; Kobe does not. Yet Nash is the obvious choice. He has the stats and his teams is nothing w/out him (in past years).
Kobe has finally learned how to involve his teammates in the game and could knock Nash off his thrown. Final bit of trivia: Nowadays it would take a near miracle for a player to 3-peat the MVP. Nash would need to have career-best in his stat box and/or lead the Suns to the all-time regular season wins record.

I sure hope not.Being a lifelong Mav fan I've had the opportunity to see him out of control.Look at his turnover ratio. He must come close to leading the league in turnovers.I'm glad he's not in Dallas anymore.Hey Steve.....learn to play defense huh????

He has serious competitions with Dirk Nowitzki. Great guys, whoever gets the MVP deserves it.

Yes.

19.5 ppg, 11.9 apg, 53% FG, 49% 3pt, 88% FT.

Plus he gets 3.2 assists per turnover and his team has won like 35 of 40.
